WebWatchers' Judges Panel ![]()
On occassion, IRC WebWatchers will accept new Judges to our panel. As we are a new organization, we will need to add Panel Judges as necessary, as we grow larger, and have more sites to check than what our Judges can possibly handle. Our judges are completely anonymous and independent judges, and their identity is NOT revealed to anyone other then their fellow panel judges to avoid the "kiss up" syndrome from those that have applied for our awards. NONE of our Judges receive compensation for their duties, or ANY special consideration(s) should their website receive any award nominations. Our panel of Judges come from several of the worldwide IRC networks and are webmasters themselves. Membership to the Judge's Panel is EXTREMELY limited and does have requirements before a new applicant will be considered and appointed to the Judge's Panel. These requirements, as well as the process to apply for a Judge's position are listed below. ALL requirements MUST be met before an applicant's application will be processed or considered.

6. ALL Judges will refrain from direct contact either on-line or via e-mail with ANY channel/site being considered for a IWW award. ALL communications to a channel/site will be done by the Judge's Panel Coordinators ONLY.
7. No Judge shall in any way promise or imply that a site will be awarded any of the IWW awards, ask for, or seek, any special consideration by ANY nominations for an award.

Step Three: The Consideration Process
Once IWW has received your application to the Judge's Panel, your site will be reviewed by a Judges Panel Coordinator who will report back to the executive board if your site/skillset meets our requirements (one of which is that our logo is both visibly displayed but also correctly linked back to our homepage.) If your site passes inspection and is passed on to the executive board, you will be contacted by IWW and asked to supply us with a fully functioning web page/resume that clearly demonstrates your understanding and mastery of web technologies. NOT ALL technologies are required (don't panic specialization is also considered,) only that you have a good grasp of those that are commonly used on websites today. Insure that your page is fully functioning and is all contained on one page with only ONE link that shows the IWW logo with a link back to our homepage. Should your supplied page at ANY time "crash" our test browsers, you will be immediately disqualified (browsers used are Internet Explorer 4.0, 4.01-sp1, 4.01-sp2, 5.0 and Netscape's most recent released browser(s) for a total of 5 browsers) if the crash was caused by a script or technology that is compatible to only one browser type. If such crash is caused by a minor browser specific feature, it is the Executive Members option to return it to you to correct or to disqualify you. If you are disqualified, you may not be considered for a Panel Judge's position for one year from the date you initially applied.
These requirements may be added to, modified and/or taken away from at any time without notice. ALL Panel Judges will be required to submit an updated technology resume in web page format once each year to demonstrate their working knowledge of new technologies of that year. If, in the opinion of the Executive Board, not enough "new technology" has come out in any given year, this requirement may be waived. For the most recent requirements, please apply for the position as full requirements are given to those who are accepted to the waiting list. ALL web page resumes become the property of IRC WebWatchers and WILL NOT be returned!! Good luck, we look forward to working with you in the near future in our efforts to advance the worldwide IRC networks hard working channels, Operaters, and their websites!
